This role is a unique opportunity to step into the logistics industry leader environment as Business Development Manager/Senior Sales Manager. In conjunction with the regional sales team You will be responsible for developing the commercial activities within the territory assigned with the primary purpose of delivering the relevant vertical and the regional business development objectives. This will involve building a robust and credible target customer sales pipeline and converting these, through selling the full suite of international and domestic services that APL Logistics is promoting within the development strategy for the relevant vertical in Germany and the wider the EMEA region. Main focus remains on industrial customers and secondary FMCG customers.


Plan and conduct business growth through new customers, by:

1.    Developing a sales-call plan including specific go to market strategy and material
2.    Conduct face-to-face and/or MS TEAMS meetings/calls with customers at all levels in their organization
3.    Communicate on customer and competitive developments that relate to the assigned sales territory
4.    Identify potential customers in each line of business – build a robust sales pipeline
5.    Develop and maintain the Germany country marketing plan in close corporation with Key Account Management and Sales team
6.    Manage sales leads from Global network and align effort with KWE as and when relevant
7.    Develop and implement a strategy to maintain and increase business with each account (main focus on new potential customers) in Germany

•    Achieve and maintain the data integrity of assigned accounts according to the established processes, which include updating of calendars, pipeline data, customer profile information contact data through data aggregator service and/or direct contact; removal of duplicate data; incorporating market intelligence; etc. in
•    Coordinate sales efforts with, EMEA Head, local commercial / KAM team, vertical management, SCS, SCM Product, IT, marketing, regional offices, finance, etc. and where / when relevant also with KWE stakeholders
•    Maintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in local trade, professional and civic associations as a representative of the company; reviews professional publications’ establishes networks
•    Lead/Participate in the post sales implementation team, including preparation of the account specific Implementation Action Plan with the new customer before hand over to KAM set up



•    Strong sales experience with background in logistics, transportation, supply chain: + 4 years minimum; International experience is a big plus
•    Advanced customer service skills are required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships, provide insight and strategies for continued development of lead generation initiatives
•    Sound analytical skills and proven research methodology required to prospect and qualify leads successfully
•    Strong project management, budget management, organizational, and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet project deadlines in a fast paced environment
•    The ability to communicate clearly and enthusiastically about services and solutions
•    Solid presentation and interpersonal skills
•    Strong relationship building skills and exceptional written and verbal communication skills: Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
•    Proven ability to work in a team-oriented environment
•    Technical proficiency on: MS Office applications, CRM tool: required, Salesforce: preferred
•    Full professional proficiency in German & fluency in English required
